Training available to become a mental health first aid responder
Are you interesting in helping someone experiencing a mental health crisis? While CPR is needed for someone struggling to breathe, mental health first aid helps someone through a mental health crisis. A mental health crisis can happen at any time, and training is available to teach students how to help someone who is experiencing or developing a mental health issue. This training is free, and teaches identification and support methods for someone struggling.
In the training, you will learn:
- Risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems
- Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis and addiction disorders
- A five-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or in crisis
- Options for help, whether it is professional, peer or self-help resources
Register today and learn more on how to become a mental health responder for someone in need.
