This class is being offered for those who prefer to learn in person instead of online. The class will consist of 4 evening classes which combine lecture, discussion, and hands-on skills practice. The class concludes with one full-weekend day session that includes classwork, review, and hands-on team activities including search and rescue, extractions, proper use of fire extinguishers, and cribbing.
For the safety of all, only fully COVID-vaccinated instructors and students may participate.
Topics covered will include Disaster Preparedness, CERT Organization, Disaster Medical Operations, Disaster Psychology, Fire Safety and Utility Controls, Light Search and Rescue, and CERT and Terrorism.
Four Thursdays, April 28th, May 5th, 12th, and 19th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Central Fire District Administration building, 930 17th Ave, Live Oak.
One Sunday, May 29th from 9 am to 5 pm, Central Fire Station, 6934 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA
ALL class sessions are required
Registration requirements:
- Complete COVID vaccination series. We recommend the booster as well when qualified.
- Submission of proof of COVID vaccination to Joyce Smith at CERT Training Coordinator.
