Our Kindergarteners need some help learning the ropes for the new school year! Bus/Lunch duty is a fun and rewarding opportunity to help our newest Brockport students find their classrooms, busses and help with the ins and outs of lunchtime! See details below!
Bus Duty- Morning arrival: Volunteers will help students exiting the bus find the correct door to enter and find their classroom.
Bus Duty - Afternoon Dismissal: Volunteers will help students exiting the building find their bus to go home.
Lunch Duty - Volunteers will help students exiting the lunch line find their table, open containers, offer support in the cafeteria, pack up / throw away their garbage. (ie: don't put open milk/juice containers back in your lunchbox, close leftovers tightly, etc.)
Important: We kindly ask parents/family of kindergarteners to refrain from volunteering at this event. Our newest students are just learning how the school day "works". Seeing their parent in school during their 1st weeks can sometimes remind our kindergarteners that they are missing Mom or Dad. We have found, once they get further into the school year, they LOVE to see parents volunteering during their day. There will be many opportunities this year!
**All Volunteers must be BCSD Board approved. This is to ensure the safety of our students. If you have never been approved to volunteer in our school district, please fill out the application here:
Brockport Central School District - Frontline Recruitment (applitrack.com)
It looks like a job application, but we can assure you, it's for volunteering. Once you are approved by our Board once, you don't have to submit it again.
Check in at the Ginther Security Window prior to each volunteer shift. Remember to bring your driver's license as they will confirm your ID.
