Help us serve our guests when we are short-handed at meal seats by joining the Loaves and Fishes Reserve Team. Signing up doesn't commit you but reflects your openness to being asked as needs arise. You decide the date, time and location and sign up.
Our community meal sites are currently serving all meals to-go and we are keeping the number of volunteers in our kitchens to four at any given time. This provides the opportunity for volunteers to practice safe social distancing and allows guests to receive a hot, healthy and free meal. No experience is necessary; our site coordinators will walk you through everything!
Following state guidelines, all Loaves and Fishes volunteers are required to wear a mask for the entirety of their shift. If you have a mask, please bring it. If not, we will provide one. We provide gloves and aprons. If you don’t have a hat, we will supply a hairnet. We also ask that you wear shoes that completely cover your feet (no sandals or open-toe shoes) and clean clothes with sleeves that cover the shoulder.
- Cooking volunteers assist with cooking a pre-planned meal under the guidance of the site coordinator and help package meals for distribution. Approx. 2.5-3 hours per shift.
- Serving volunteers package and distribute meals, clean up during distribution and at the end of the meal and do dishes throughout the serving period. Approx. 2.5-3 hours per shift.
Thank you for partnering with us to serve our guests!
