Please arrive at time listed on the sign up. We have already built in 30 minutes of prep time before patients arrive. Please also make sure that you have duo set up on your cell phone. You will be emailed a verification code from Sales Force when logging in and will need access to your email to get the code. 

 

Monitor

  • Ensures patients wait for their 15 minutes post-vaccination
  • Observes patients closely during the post-vaccination period
  • Monitors for signs or symptoms of reaction
  • Listens to patient concerns
  • Alerts Provider of the Day, Logistics Coordinator, or clinical vaccinator of patient reaction concern
  • Assists Provider of the Day, Logistics Coordinator, or clinical vaccinator to get patient to urgent care area as needed.
  • Role Requirements
    • Any volunteer or staff member (clinical preferred)
    • Ability to stand and ambulate for extended periods of time

Check-In Staff/Mobile Scheduler

Check –In Staff

  • Utilizes Salesforce to look up patient
  • Ensures that patient has arrived at proper location at correct date and time
  • Completes Salesforce check-in process
  • In some instances will schedule next vaccination appointment for patient
  • Obtains required signatures
  • Provides patients with required papers and forms
  • Directs patient to usher
  • Role Requirements
    • Preferred MOA or scheduler within the organization
    • Any staff member within the organization
    • Volunteers with customer service experience, and comfort with computers.
    • Able to sit for long periods of time

Mobile Scheduler

  • Uses Salesforce to schedule 2nd dose appointments as the patient is in the monitoring phase
  • Role Requirements
    • Preferred MOA or scheduler within the organization
    • Any staff member within the organization
    • Volunteers with customer service experience, and comfort with computers.
    • Able to stand and ambulate for extended periods of time

Vaccinators

  • Utilizes Salesforce to look up patient
  • Completes health screening questions
  • Answers patient questions about the vaccine, or contacts the Provider of the Day to do so PRN
  • Draws up vaccine, and completes patient vaccination
  • Documents in Salesforce
  • Monitors patients as assigned for the 15 minutes post vaccination along with circulating monitors
  • Provides urgent clinical care as needed or directed by Provider of the Day
  • Cleans station per protocol
  • Follows processes and procedures, and universal precautions
  • Role Requirements
    • PSH Staff RN, LPN, Provider, Paramedic, Pharmacist
    • Volunteer RN, LPN, provider, paramedic, pharmacist with valid licensure
    • PSH Medical Student
    • PSH Nursing Student
    • Comfortable with computers
    • Able to stand and ambulate throughout shift.

Provider of the Day

  • Work with Logistics Coordinator to assure efficient and effective practices
  • Answer patient questions about the vaccine
  • Provide needed urgent care to patients with any level of reaction
  • Relieve other clinicians on break as vaccinator
  • Role Requirements
    • PSH employed physician or APP
    • Volunteer physician or APP (non-PSH) with current license to practice in PA
    • Ability to stand and ambulate for significant periods of time

Translators

  • Individuals who are bilingual in both Spanish/Nepali (depending on the site) and English and can assist with translation throughout the vaccination process. You do not need to be a certified translator.
