The Cambridge Women's Center is a physical and digital community space open to anyone for whom woman is a meaningful identifier or lived experience. We offer a safe space for learning, emotional support, empathy, and empowerment through self-determination.
Please review the instructions below regarding ingredients, labeling and containers. Contact Jade Moran at 617-256-3929 or Gabby Geller at 267-970-7775 if you have questions. Finally, please bring your contribution to the Oxford Street door at morning drop off on Friday 8-9am.
Instructions from Community Cooks regarding INGREDIENTS and LABELING:
- PLEASE DO NOT USE ALCOHOL Or alcohol based ingredients (including non-alcoholic wine/beer/liquor).
- NO BEANS!
- All sandwiches should be meat based
- Whole wheat bread, wraps, and roll-ups are preferred; tuna, roast beef, turkey, and chicken salad sandwiches are enjoyed; homemade desserts are always appreciated
- Please wrap each sandwich individually with plastic wrap or in sandwich baggies.
- Label sandwich types
- Label ingredients to warn of potential food allergens
- Separate sandwiches by type, placing the same ones in a bag
- Please label with your name, "Lesley Ellis School" and "For Cambridge Women's Center - Open Luncheon from Community Cooks"
- Label your food item with the name of the food plus a list of ingredients (Especially the top food allergens: dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, sesame, soy, wheat, mustard).
- Please use disposable containers with foil cover rather than plastic covers for reheating purposes.
MENU SUGGESTIONS:
- Main Meat: roast chicken, pulled chicken, beef or turkey chili, lasagna, meatloaf
- Side Pasta/Grain: rice dishes of all kinds, pasta of all kinds
- Veggies/Salad: mashed potatoes w/gravy, roasted vegetables, corn, roasted potatoes
- Dessert/Fruit: cookies, brownies/blondies, cupcakes, sheet cakes, fruit cobblers, pieces of fruit, etc.
- Fruit: fruit cups of individual pieces of fruit, apples, bananas, clementines (no bowls or plates of fruit)
- Condiments: jars of mustard and mayo plus a plate of lettuce and sliced tomatoes
- Drinks: water, seltzer, gatorade, iced tea
- *Please keep in mind, these lunches are for adults
DELIVERY DETAILS:
25 Mount Auburn Street Cambridge, MA 02138
Deliver to Cambridge Women's Center between 2pm and 6pm on Friday. Volunteers can bring food to the front door of the Mount Auburn Street entrance. Staff can see volunteers through the windows and glass doors and will open the door to accept the meal delivery.
