Eligible Virginians can start voting in-person absentee on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Fairfax Government Center. (There will be ten satellite locations added later in the season.) We need volunteers to cover the polls the same way we do on Election Day. There are a LOT of hours to cover between September 21 and November 3, so please sign up for as many shifts on as many days as you can.
Location: Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Pkwy, Fairfax, VA 22035)
Non-Braddock Volunteers: Each District has volunteered to cover 3 or 4 weekday shifts of early voting. These are indicated on the signup sheet. Each District also has evening and Saturday shifts to cover in their own Districts, so if your District's days are covered, please see your District Chair for additional opportunities. You can download the District volunteer schedule here.
- Hand out a list of Democratic candidates (sample ballot) to voters as they arrive.
- Answer general questions from visitors to the Government Center (many people do not realize in-person absentee voting exists, so we encourage as many people to vote as possible).
Please Sign Up for a Training Session: Twelve training sessions will be offered throughout the six-week period. We encourage you to attend a training session—even if you have done this before—as laws, regulation, and procedures change every year. Please sign up for a training session at braddockdems.org/train/earlyvoting.
When you sign up, please provide a cell phone number in case we need to reach you during your shift. (Phone numbers will not be displayed on the form.)
You can download a copy of the early voting schedule here.
