Cathedral of the Rockies
DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, SOME OF THE USUAL VOLUNTEER SLOTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED SINCE THE MEAL IS SERVED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING IN TO-GO BOXES WITH A FEW VOLUNTEERS IN THE KITCHEN AND ONE GREETER OUTSIDE SERVING ALONG WITH A CHURCH STAFF MEMBER.
The Cathedral of the Rockies hosts a Friendship Feast for our community members who may be homeless, food insecure, or simply want to dine with us! We serve a hot meal every Sunday at 1pm and every third Thursday at 5pm. Your help is needed to greet and provide hospitality, help the cook prep and serve the food, and clean up.
Cooks -- Do you have experience planning, shopping on a budget, and cooking for approximately 50 people? Be one of our cooks on a rotating schedule. You will receive church kitchen training and can shadow another cook for a week or two. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Pete Schroeder at: [email protected]
THIRD THURSDAY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Greeters -- One or two people will offer hospitality at the Franklin Street entrance to the church. Arrive at 4:30 pm, and stay until the meal ends at 5:30 pm.
Prep Team and Clean Up-- three people are needed to help the cook complete the meal, arrange the food in to-go boxes, clean up the kitchen and wash dishes. Arrive at 3:30 pm and stay until the meal is served and kitchen is cleaned, typically until around 5:30 pm.
