Cathedral of the Rockies
DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, SOME OF THE USUAL VOLUNTEER SLOTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED SINCE THE MEAL IS SERVED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. MEALS ARE SERVED IN TO-GO BOXES WITH FEW VOLUNTEERS IN THE KITCHEN AND ONE GREETER OUTSIDE ALONG WITH A CHURCH STAFF MEMBER. WE APPRECIATE YOUR TIME IN HELPING US FEED PEOPLE WHO ARE FOOD INSECURE IN OUR COMMUNITY. SIGN UP FOR A DATE BELOW! THANK YOU!
The Cathedral of the Rockies hosts a Friendship Feast for our community members who may be homeless, food insecure, or simply want to dine with us! We typically serve a hot meal every Sunday at 1pm and every third Thursday at 5pm. Your help is needed to greet and provide hospitality, help the cook prep and serve the food, and wash dishes.
Cooks -- Do you have experience planning, shopping on a budget, and cooking for approximately 100 people? Be one of our cooks on a rotating schedule. You will receive church kitchen training and can shadow another cook for a week or two. We would love to have you join our team! If you are interested in learning more, please contact Pete Schroeder at [email protected]
SUNDAY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Greeters -- One or two people offer hospitality at the Franklin Street entrance to the church along with a staff member. Hand our clean masks, maintain social distancing. Arrive at 12:15pm and stay until the meal ends at 1:30pm.
Prep Team -- Two or three people are needed to help the cook complete the meal, fill to-go boxes and help clean up. Arrive at 11:00am and stay until the meal is served, dishes are washed, dishwasher cleans, and floors and counters cleaned.
