Cathedral of the Rockies
MEALS ARE SERVED IN TO-GO BOXES WITH JUST A FEW VOLUNTEERS IN THE KITCHEN AND ONE GREETER OUTSIDE. WE APPRECIATE YOUR TIME IN HELPING US FEED PEOPLE WHO ARE FOOD INSECURE IN OUR COMMUNITY. SIGN UP FOR A DATE BELOW! THANK YOU!
The Cathedral of the Rockies hosts a Friendship Feast for our community members who may be homeless, food insecure, or simply want to dine with us! We typically serve a meal every Sunday at 12:30 pm and every third Thursday at 5 pm. Your help is needed to greet and welcome our guests, help the cook prepare and serve the food, clean the kitchen and wash dishes. We ask that all volunteers follow church guidelines for wearing a mask inside the church and kitchen.
Cooks -- Do you have experience planning, shopping on a budget, and cooking for approximately 70 - 80 people? Be one of our cooks on a rotating schedule. You will receive church kitchen training and can shadow another cook for a week or two. We would love to have you join our team! If you are interested in learning more, please contact Pete Schroeder at [email protected]
SUNDAY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Greeters -- One or two people offer hospitality at the Franklin Street entrance to the church. Welcome and visit with our guests, help maintain social distancing. Arrive at 12:15 pm and stay until the meal ends at 1:30 pm.
Prep Team -- Two or three people are needed to help the cook complete the meal, fill takeout boxes and help clean up. Arrive at 11:15 am and stay until the meal is served, dishes are washed, and floors and counters cleaned -- typically until around noon to 12:30 pm.
