Please use this sign up to select a time slot for Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day. Arrive as close to your time slot as possible to reduce wait times.
The event is for New Bedford, Dartmouth, & Freetown residents only. Proof of residency required.
Examples of accepted waste include:
- oil-based paints
- paint thinner
- pesticides
- old gasoline

Examples of unaccepted waste include:
Do not bring latex paint (if you cannot give it away, dry out and throw away in the regular trash). Do not bring empty containers. Do not bring anything that is accepted at your transfer station including:
- No antifreeze
- No fluorescent light bulbs and mercury containing devices
- No motor oil
- No propane (or other) tanks or cylinders
- No TVs or computer monitors
New Bedford or Dartmouth residents with questions, call (508) 979-1493. Freetown residents with questions about what is accepted at the Transfer Station, call (508) 644-2202 Ext 3.
The maximum amount you can bring is 25 gallons or 25 pounds. Collection is for households only. No businesses, schools, or contractors.
The event will take place at the Crapo Hill Landfill, 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd., New Bedford. Please enter through the New Bedford Business Park on Braley Road. Once you enter the park, you will pass the Registry of Motor Vehicles on your left. Signs will be posted to help guide you through the business park to the landfill. **Please note that traffic flows in one direction at this event; the only way to enter is through the New Bedford Business Park.
