Anything Goes Auditions

The North Canton Playhouse is excited to announce auditions for Anything Goes!

Be sure to read all details before signing up for an audition slot!

Auditions will take place June 24th and 25th and are open to those entering 7th grade - 23 years old. Please plan to stay for the full hour that you sign up for below! 

Audition requirements:

• Please prepare a one minute vocal selection (usually 32 bars) from or in the style of music from “Anything Goes.”  You must bring your own vocal track accompaniment.  We will have speakers for you to connect with your device/phone.  Please no acapella singing.
• You will be asked to learn a short dance combination, please be prepared to move.
• If you are a tapper or have any tap experience, please bring your tap shoes to your audition. 

Should callbacks be needed, they will be held June 25th from 1-3pm.

The production will be directed by Mindy Whitesmith and Dana Schulman. 

Rehearsals will start Monday, June 27th.

June rehearsals: 

• Monday, 27th 4-7pm
• Wednesday, 29th 4-7pm

July rehearsals:

• Sundays 1-4pm
• Mondays 4-7pm
• Wednesdays 4-7pm

August rehearsals: (NO REHEARSALS July 30-AUG 7)

• Sundays 1-4pm
• Mondays 4:30-7:30pm
• Tuesdays 4:30-7:30pm
• Wednesdays 4:30-7:30pm

Tech:

• Labor day (Sept 5) 1:30-5:30pm
• Tuesday, Sept 6 - Thursday, Sept 8 -- rehearsals will start at 4:30 and go until done.

Show dates:

• Friday, September 9 - 7pm
• Saturday, September 10 - 7pm
• Sunday, September 11 - 2pm
• Friday, September 16 - 7pm
• Saturday, September 17 - 7pm
• Sunday, September 18- 2pm

Rehearsal times are subject to change slightly based on cast availability. You will receive a form to fill out prior to your audition - please be sure to list all conflicts for all rehearsals. 

Cast members will be responsible for some costume items.

About the show:

When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love... proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, a comical disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Music, dance, laughs and the age-old tale of boy meets girl... Anything Goes is delightful, delicious and de-lovely.
