Armatage Montessori School's Field Day is the highly anticipated event during the last days of school with students participating in athletic sports performed on the Armatage Park field. All events provide challenging fitness activities learned during gym class throughout the school year. There are over a dozen fun events, ranging from the traditional sprints and jump rope to the crazy shoe kick and limbo! These events take place on the Armatage Field adjacent to the school and Armatage Community Center. There are two sessions of events, divided into the different grades. To make this event successful each year, we rely on Armatage families to volunteer at the various event stations to help with tasks such as: measuring distances, timing runners, and cheering on our student participants. Often parents sign up for volunteer slots during one session (morning or afternoon) and watch / cheer their kids during the other.
The morning session is for Pre-K through 2nd grades. Pre-K and Kindergarten's events are supervised by 5th grade volunteers. First and second grade events are supervised by parent volunteers. (8:00-10:15 am - Field Events for Pre-K, K, 1st, and 2nd Grades.)
Parent and family volunteers also run event stations in the afternoon session, which is when 3rd, 4th and 5th graders participate. (11:15-1:30 pm - Field Events for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades.)
Thank you for volunteering at this all school event. Come out to join the students to have some fun and encourage good sportsmanship!
