Immigrant Pathways Colorado Announces Free Colorado Authors’ Webinar:
The House That Love Built
Please join Immigrant Pathways Colorado at 7 p.m. on May 11 for another in its FREE Colorado Authors’ Series, as we meet with Sarah Johnson, author of The House That Love Built: Why I Opened My Door to Immigrants and How We Found Hope beyond a Broken System.
Sarah was a young woman when she opened her small apartment to immigrants who had just been released from detention by ICE. Often, these people were escorted out of a detention center in the wee hours of a winter night with no idea where they were or where they could go, and with only the light-weight clothing in which they had been arrested.
As time went on, Sarah began to offer free housing to the families of detained people who came from long distances and were desperate to see their loved ones.
Today Sarah and volunteers run Casa de Paz (House of Peace) in Aurora. This is an amazing, insightful, moving story, and one we know you will find inspirational.
