We are so excited to have our Fourth Annual Cultural Night at Brook Park on Thursday, February 28th from 6-7:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Please enter through door 13 and be prepared for delicious food and lots of fun. There will be cultural crafts and activities, which will provide entertainment for your family, while you eat delicious foods from all over the world.
In order to participate or even attend this event, you have to register. It does not cost to attend, but we need a head count. Please choose as many slot numbers as people attending. You have the option to bring food to share, or to bring a cultural activity to set up for the kids to do. We hope you will come enjoy this family event.
Please be sure to specify whether you will be attending (how many in your family) and what dish you will be bringing, if you are bringing one. Or if you will be doing an activity from your culture instead (for example, in the past, we have one family who did henna and another who helped children learn to use chopsticks).
If you are bringing a dish from your culture, please make sure it is in a large container with a serving utensil, ready to be served. If you are bringing one item per person (like cookies), please bring about 100. We will not have access to ovens or microwaves to reheat food. We will have paper plates for people to walk around and try different foods from around the world. If you are bringing soup or a special drink, please also provide little cups or bowls to serve them in.
Each family who brings a dish to share will receive half a table. You can decorate your side of the table with trinkets or pictures/posters from your country. This is entirely optional, but we do ask that you at least have a card to identify your country and food description on it. Please also mark ingredients for possible allergens. Feel free to dress up and get into this as much as you like. Doors will be open at 5:45 pm to allow time to set up.
