Dragons on the Rock 2021 Volunteer Sign Up

Dragons on the Rock is Saturday, September 18th, 9am - 6pm at Traxler Park, Janesville 

Sign up to join a planning committee or volunteer during the event! Each committee will oversee the planning and implementation of the duties listed both leading up to and during the event. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, lunch during the event, and an invitation to the exclusive volunteer party! Once you sign up, we will email any necessary forms and details.

Logistics Committee

Duties Include:

  • Trash/Recycle 
  • Set-up/Clean-up
  • Ice

  • First Aid/Ambulance/EMT
  • Bathroom Clean-up

  • Best Events Catering 
  • City of Janesville Permits

Sales & Promo Committee

Dragon Boat Race Committee   

Duties Include:

  • Boat Race & Registration 
  • Race Time Recorder
  • Race Runner
  • Race Marshall Volunteer

  • Boat Assistants 
  • Drummer Contest Registration
  • Drummer Announcer
  • VIP Tent
  • Team Tents 
  • Trash/Recycle Clean Up 

Street Chef Challenge Committee 

Duties Include: 

  • Street Chef Competitors 
  • Sponsorships 
  • Donations 
  • T-Shirts 
  • Registration
  • Volunteer Coordinator - Direct
  • Communications with Kerry 
  • Chefs & Mixologist 

Festival Committee 

Duties Include: 

  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Food Truck/Vendor Contact
  • Bartenders
  • Bands
  • Vendors/Exhibitors 
  • Kids Activities - Bouncey House, Face Painting 
    • Sales - Soda/Water, Items
  • Trash/Recycle Clean-up
  • Rock Aqua Jays - Parking & Park Set-up


Below is a list of areas in which volunteers are needed. Closer to the event, each volunteer will have the opportunity to choose a specific position and timeslot. Each volunteer will meet with their designated coordinator prior to the event to learn more about their position and duties during their chosen timeslot.

Work with a Volunteer Committee to help accomplish tasks the day of the event. Volunteer Coordinators will help organize and contact you to assist finding a position that works best for you

Logistics Committee (10)

Coordinate with local companies and ask for donations or discounted rates on behalf of KANDU. After verification with KANDU, the volunteer will be the main contact of communication between KANDU and the business. Only KANDU can approve contracts

Sales & Promo Committee (10)

promote the race by asking for team sign-up and/or sponsorships, donations, and distribute flyers. KANDU will supply any information or material needs. Only KANDU employees can approve contracts.

Dragon Boat Race (10)

Volunteers will work with 22Dragons on arrival and set up for practices the week prior to the event along with race day tasks. Volunteers will also assist teams with release forms, placement of tents, and hand out team packets.

Volunteer Coordinators (4)

We Need 1 Coordinator for each of the Following Committees: Logistics, Street Chef Challenge, Dragon Boat Race, and Festival. Each Coordinator will be well versed in the race or festival. They will also receive any assistance from KANDU.


Street Chef Competition (10)

reach out to past food trucks as well as brainstorms other Chefs who may want to participate. They will recruit help for the day of the event as well as running registration and working with Kerry.

Festival Committee (6)

Prior to the event, volunteers will be responsible for contacting vendors and collecting the necessary documents. Responsible for recruiting the for day of the even. Volunteer will work with KANDU on contacting bands, and kids activities for the event.
