It's that time again and we need YOUR help to Re-elect Monica Wilson for Antioch City Council 2022. Weather you are a long time supporter or just getting to know Monica, we appreciate your willingness to sign-up to canvass.
A few words from your District 4 Coucilwoman, Monica Wilson:
As the first Black woman elected to the City Council, Monica Wilson has stood up for the Antioch community.
Garbage Services: While we all felt the economic pinch from the COVID-19 pandemic and high gas prices, Monica was the only Councilmember to fight and vote against a 15.2% increase in our garbage fees.
Combating Climate Change: Monica championed a law that banned oil/gas drilling; fought to shut down a pipeline that transported gas through Antioch; and the construction of a gas station adjacent to a residential community.
Champion For Youth: Monica stopped Big Tobacco from targeting our youth with deceptive advertising by voting to ban flavored tobacco products.
Reducing Gun Violence: Monica stood up to City Hall and demanded the creation of a new city department focused on reducing gun violence.
Police Accountability: Monica voted to equip police with body cameras, establish a police oversight board that ensures transparency and create a mobile mental health crisis team.
Police Funding: Monica is the only District-4 candidate who voted to fully fund the Police Department for two years, refusing to play politics with your safety and ensuring police had the tools and labor force to respond to dangerous situations.
Protecting the Most Vulnerable: Monica fought and voted for a new rent stabilization law and transitional housing for the chronically homeless.
Despite pressures from powerful special interests, Monica stays focused on fighting for our community. For more information, visit: MonicaWilsonforAntioch.com. We stand with Monica because Monica stands with us.
