Nourishing Bethesda
We need your help in fighting food insecurity in the Bethesda area.
Please consider volunteering on a Thursday eve from 6:30 - 8:30 pm or on a Friday from 10:30 - 12:00 or 12:00 - 3:00 pm to help feed 250+ local families in need. Nourishing Bethesda Coalition will supply families with enough fresh produce and shelf-stable grocery items to feed a family of four for five days. But we need your help!
The Coalition has committed to provide this service every Friday afternoon through August 2021, so we need plenty of volunteers to help with guiding traffic, replenishing tables and loading cars, Please sign up for as many Friday’s as you can. We have a job that is right for you!
Please dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. To ensure everyone's safety, we follow COVID-10 protocols established by Montgomery County. This requires limits on the number of participants and the use of PPE. We therefore restrict participation to volunteers who have signed up throu this SignUp Genius, and we ask that you not invite family members or friends who have not registered. All volunteers must wear masks, and volunteers whose tasks put them in close contact with our food recipients will also be required to wear face shields. We also ask that anyone who feels unwell refrain from participation in the event.
You may want to bring a water bottle. Before the distribution, we will email you with more details.
We also welcome tax-deductible financial donations to help underwrite this program. Please click here and in the drop-down box, please choose ‘Nourishing Bethesda’. Your support is very appreciated and will go directly to supporting this project!
Thank you for making our community a better place.
