FUMC Mission Team
Did you know that every Saturday night there is a local AA Group that holds their weekly meetings at FUMC? We provide snacks to them and an open invitation to our Sunday worship services to make them feel welcome.
The Mission Team is accepting volunteers to drop off snacks for this AA meeting. If you decide on packaged/bagged snacks, such as chips, popcorn, cookies, etc., then you may bring them to the church any time during the week that the church is open and leave them in Room L17 (downstairs across from Children's Chapel) with a little note on them indicating that they are for the AA Group. If you prefer to bring them the night of their meeting, then only the very back door of the church is open around 8/8:15ish and the group leader (either Gene or Rob) will be there gladly accepting your snacks.
Generally they see around 20-25 people at their meetings, so we suggest to bring about 3-4 bags/packages of snacks, depending on size of package. You are more than welcome to make something homemade to take to them if you feel so inclined, I'm sure they would love that as well!
Again, this AA Group meets on Saturdays at 8:30pm and they enter only through the back door of our church. We like to provide snacks to them and remind them that they are invited, and welcome, to attend either of our church services on Sunday. If you feel as though this would be a good fit for you and your time available for service to others, please sign up on this sign-up sheet. If you have any questions at all, please feel free email [email protected] or call the church office. Thank you all so much!
