Food Bank Farm Harvest
Thank you to everyone who has come out to the Food Bank Farm this Harvest Season!
We will continue to harvest Beets during the late Fall and into Winter.
These are Rain or Shine events. Please sign up only if you are willing and able to work in the pouring rain of the Pacific Northwest.
Anyone can volunteer: Individuals & Families – all ages, Friends/Pods, Co-workers, High School students looking for volunteer hours, Scouts, Neighborhood Groups, Community Groups, everyone & anyone!
Keeping Safe: We will be working outside in fresh air with more than 6 feet of social distancing. Expect to have your temperature taken, answer screening questions as you get on-site. You can wash hands at our hand washing station and please wear a mask if you get within 10 feet of others. The on-site porta-potties will be regularly sanitized.
Volunteer Signup Options to Get People into the Field:
- Groups of 5 Volunteers. Sign up your Group of 5 to help. One point of contact for 5 field workers. 9 slots x 5 people per slot = 45 people total
- Individual Volunteers. If you have 3 people, please sign up for "3 Individual Volunteer" slots.
What to Bring: Water, Mask, Work Gloves, Boots for the mud/dirt. Rain Gear!
Where to Go: Attached you will find directions to the Beet farm.
(1) Set your GPS for "Dairyland" in Snohomish. This will get you to the turnoff from "Old Snohomish-Monroe Road" onto Treosti Road.
(2) Follow the signs back to the beet field. The field is inside of Harnden's Tree Nursery. We will harvest beets, twist off the leaves, and fill sack in the field.
