Newtown Arts Company is pleased to announce auditions for
AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD:
Thursday, September 6 from 6:30-9:30pm and Sunday, September 9 from 1-4pm
Callbacks will be held Sunday afternoon, September 16, by invitation
Location: Crossing Community Church, 80 Lower Silver Lake Rd, Newtown PA 18940
Performances are Thursday, Dec 6 through Wednesday Dec 12 (no performance Monday, Dec 10)
First Read-Through and costume fittings will be Monday, October 1. Rehearsals will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday afternoons (not every Sunday.) If you foresee having multiple schedule conflicts, we kindly ask that you reconsider auditioning for this production.
~Sign up for a 60 minute time slot. Appointments preferred, but we may be able to accommodate walk-ups.

~Complete the audition form from our website in advance and bring it with you. (Make sure to include schedule conflicts!):
~Bring a head shot or recent photo, and a resume (if you have one)
~Prepare to sing 16-32 measures of a Broadway song that demonstrates vocal ability. Please bring your own sheet music. We will have an accompanist.
Relax and enjoy the experience! We welcome veteran actors, as well as those who are new or have not been onstage in a while. We are looking forward to having you, and may be able to cast family members together in our productions! We have watched many of our child actors grow up in the company. All parts are open.
We also welcome those who may be interested in joining our production team, so if you have skills or interests in stage crew, sound, lights, costumes, set building etc, let us know. We will train!

Mame Dennis*-Female, 40-60, Alto, woman of the world, free-thinker, charismatic, lover of life.
Vera Charles*-Female, 40-60, Alto, woman of the stage, free-drinker, lover of fun and hooch, Mame’s bestie.
*UPDATE: If you are called back for Mame or Vera a monologue will be provided for you to prepare in advance of callbacks. Monologues/sides will NOT be needed prior to auditions.
Agnes Gooch-Female, 30-40, Mezzo, cloistered woman and nanny of Patrick; will live with a little help and Mame’s influence.
Mother Burnside, Female, 60+, character female to play 70, Alto; Southern mint juleps and brash.
Cousin Fan, Female, 35-45, Soprano; Southern kin of Beau.
Sally Cato, Female, 25-40, Mezzo; Southern kin of Beau and his onetime intended.
Dwight Babcock/Uncle Jeff, Male, 45-60, will double with Uncle Jeff; appointed conservator of young Patrick; tries to protect him from Mame's influence/Baritone; Southern kin of Beau.
Young Patrick Dennis, Male, 10-15, Boy Soprano, will play Peter in Act Two; orphaned ward of Mame; her heartthrob, her raison d’être; he changes her life, and she enriches his.
Patrick Dennis, Male, 19-29, Baritone, will double in Ensemble in Act One; Patrick grown and changed by a conservative world.
Ito, Male 35-55, baritone; through thick and thin, riches and rags, loyal house servant to Mame; Asian-American actor
Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside/Bishop, Male, 45-55, baritone, will double with Bishop; handsome, hale, hearty, jovial, and life-affirming romantic alliance with Mame.
Ralph Devine, Man-about-town and Mame’s friend
M. Lindsay Woolsey, Male 40-50, confidante of Mame, possible romantic interest, but more a close friend.
Junior Babcock/Gregor, Male, 19-21, will be male Ensemble, double with Gregor; older Patrick's boarding school roommate.
Mrs. Upson, Female, 40-50, uptight, upstate, New Yorker; blue blood and careful to maintain it.

Gloria Upson, Female, 20-30, will be female Ensemble; daughter of ultra-conservative parents, shares their views, engaged to Patrick.
