Hi Parents of Hill! This is Beth McCarty. I know it's super early, but Elizabeth Blakely and I are the Co-Chairs and are already thinking of the Jog-A-Thon for next fall. The date is Friday, Oct. 5th. It will be all day on the back track. We don't have the grade schedule yet, but we're having a meeting to put together committee's on Thursday, May 31st, at 7:00pm in the Art Room at Hill. It's to discuss with the volunteers what needs to start happening, because once school starts, we are all waaaaay too busy to try and have a meeting. So, what we're looking for is 2 parents, per grade, to volunteer, to take on a bigger role for the JAT. We already have recruited two incoming Kindergarten parents(YEA!). So, we're looking for more. We need people to go around to local businesses, in our city, and get gift cards, or gift certificates as prizes. I.E. Johnny Cakes, BWW, Joe Kool's, McDonalds, CN Nails, etc.... If we can get a business to donate small prizes for the kids too. They love taking stuff home. Many of our local businesses were amazing in donating to our school. We will also need people to head the start up and take down on the day of. Elizabeth Blakely needs a committee to help with Shout Outs prior to the event. We also need someone to direct the volunteers, for the day of, as to where they are going to be most useful at. These are just some of the areas we need help in.
