Updated SD/HI/SA
Dear Wonderful Volunteers:
We continue to pray that you and your families are doing well during this pandemic! And we thank you for helping with Family Promise during our host week beginning February 14. Once again, because of the pandemic, we will not be hosting families at St. Dunstan's. Instead, our three families will be staying at Roswell Presbyterian Church, at 755 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell.
We are asking you to do the same three things you did during our previous two host weeks: 1) donate $25 gift cards (if these are not used by our guests, Family Promise makes sure they are given to individuals in need through their exapanded outreach programs), 2) provide bottled water, snacks, cleaning supplies, and other items (paper towels, toilet paper, etc), and 3) volunteer to spend the night at Roswell Presbyterian. Guests will be doing their own grocery shopping and preparing their own meals. We will not need anyone to prepare meals or serve as dinner hosts. We also, obviously, will not need volunteers to set up, break down, or do laundry.
For those of you who are interested in spending the night, Roswell Presbyterian has prepared an excellent viewer-friendly video clip: https://youtu.be/G_U6PZWKOJ8. It will tell you exactly which building to go to, where to park, the location of the entrance you should use, and where to find the overnight room. Volunteers will be staying down the hall from guests, and no interaction will take place, unless an emergency occurs. If you sign up for an overnight, Mimi Gold will call you with the security code for entering the church.
Roswell Presbyterian is located at 755 Mimosa Blvd in Roswell.
Please drop off gift cards in the church office during the week of February 7 from 10 to 3. If no one is in the office, go to the back door of Tricia's office and insert cards into the cat door! For items such as snacks and paper towels, please leave at the front door of the church. Mark your donations "Family Promise." Otherwise, they will go to the Food Pantry.
During our host week, we will be hosting three families: A father and his eight-year-old son; a mother, a father, and two children, aged eight and one; and a mother and her eight-year-old daughter. So that's four adults and four children.
We are deeply grateful for the love and support you are providing Family Promise families. You are truly a blessing! Thank you for sharing your gifts with this ministry.
Blessings to all, and stay well.
