St Mary Grinnell
Grinnell Take Away Hunger is a food relief organization that unites teams of local volunteers to put
together highly nutritious food packets. Its mission is to reduce hunger around the world
by having local volunteers work together to package food. The current events are scheduled to take place at the Elks Club located at 720 3rd Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112.
It costs $384 ($32/person) for a team of twelve to pack meals in a 45 minute time slot at an event.
In addition to the packing team we need volunteers to help unload the trailer and set up from noon until about 1:00 pm and extra help moving boxes and filling supplies from 1-4 PM the day of the event. There would be no charge to work this shift. See below for job specifics.
St. Mary's Parish has reserved a 1:00-1:45 PM time slot. Please sign up below if you would like to be a part of the the St. Mary's team. Be sure to arrive about 10 min before 1:00 to get signed in. If you can pay the $32/per person please pay that to the parish office. We pay for the team with one check from St. Mary's. You can write the check out to St. Mary's and put Take Away Hunger in the Memo OR cash works too. If you put in a collection basket BE SURE to indicate that money is to go to the Take Away Hunger team.
Since we have people donate that might not be able to pack on the team so don't let the cost keep you from signing up.
