Zebrotics parents- the build season is almost upon us! And the hungry hordes need food to fuel their creative endeavors! We are asking all families to provide at least 2 meal donations and 1-2 snack donations throughout the build season.
The full team build times are Sunday 10am-5pm and we need families to provide lunch for 36 people. We're asking 2-3 families to collaborate to provide main dishes, side dishes, salad or fruit and dessert each week (or one family to provide the whole lunch which counts as your donation for the season). Please use the comment to indicate what you are bringing--it helps everyone's meal planning.
Please plan on meals being available for team members to eat at 1pm. Scarlett does not have a refrigerator or oven so please plan accordingly for foods that need heating or cooling. Please bring serving utensils, if needed.
Lunch will be served in the Scarlett PLTW rooms (where the team builds). Please plan on being there to set up, help with serving and clean up on the days that you sign up. We REALLY need to make sure that we clean up after ourselves! We are guests at Scarlett.
Please plan on providing a vegetarian option for each of the meals. Please NO TREE NUTS--due to student allergy (no almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, etc).
A note about fruit. Please don't bring bags of apples- mostly likely they won't get eaten. Grapes, tangerines, bananas, berries, cut melon are much more likely to get eaten.
Sub-teams are also meeting during the week and we would like to have some snacks on hand to keep energy flowing. We are going to do 4 snack drives to stock our shelves with several weeks worth of shelf stable snacks. These can be small bags of chips/pretzels, crackers, cookies, fruit snacks, granola bars, etc. Please bring snacks to the team's workspace at Scarlett. Please NO TREE NUTS--due to student allergy (no almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, etc).
We ask that all students bring a water bottle (with their name on it). We will not be providing other beverages.
There is a storage bin labeled '5708' in the team's workspace at Scartlett with plates, napkins and silverware. Please get what you need from there and let me or Christia know if we're running low.
Please note that we share the space with Scarlett classes. Please keep the space clean, use only our snacks and supplies and be respectful of other classes' property. Food must be cleaned up and trash disposed of properly each evening.
If you child has food allergies or dietary restrictions please let me know asap.
Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions!
