It's REGATTA TIME!!
The Oak Ridge Rowing Association is proud to present the 2019 Secret City Head Race!
This event offers the opportunity for individuals and crews to compete on a 5000m race course.
Whether you know very little about the sport of rowing or are a passionate follower of the sport, this is your chance to get involved! You will be joining a team of volunteers who enjoy welcoming crews and spectators to the Oak Ridge-Knoxville metro area and work to provide a wonderful regatta experience so please join us!
Our venue is outdoors, so dress anticipating inclement weather. Wear layered and waterproof clothing and don't forget a hat and sunscreen! Docks may become slippery so wear appropriate footwear. Do not wear any red clothing while performing jobs near the course as a red flag is used to stop a race.
There are many areas that need your help. Most of these positions require little or no experience and are under the supervision of a USRowing referee who will be happy to guide you!
On the day of the event please check in at the regatta 'volunteer' tent located at the front of the boathouse. We will make sure you get to your volunteer assignment. All volunteer times are estimates: the volunteer job may possibly run longer or shorter than the posted time (weather delays are common). Fog is an issue this time of year. Please be understanding. Also, please remember to check out upon completion of your volunteer assignment.
Have fun and thanks for volunteering! We look forward to seeing you at the regatta!
