SEPTA GIFTED AND TALENTED DIVISION PRESENTS:

Please join us for a special guest speaker on The Gifted Child

January 16th at 7pm At the Manhasset Public Library- 

Community Room (lower level)

Ms. Tobi Phillips, an educator for over thirty-eight years and founder of Village East Gifted, Inc. will discuss: 

  • Benefits of the early identification of gifted learners
  • Benchmarks of grade level students vs. students of academically-high aptitude 
  • "Symptoms" of gifted learners who are in need of more rigorous, academic undertakings
  • Curriculum areas most beneficial to gifted students
  • Writing:The Gifted Student's Dilemma
  • Teaching approach to engage, challenge and entertain gifted learners ages 3 to 18 
  • Academic, emotional, social and cognitive needs of gifted children
  • Recommendations for helping grade level siblings cope with their gifted family members
  • Suggestions for effectively raising happy and intellectually-satisfied gifted children.
