Salt Brook - Tiger Track Club Spring '19 Volunteer Sign-Up

Tiger Track Club - program description available on PTA Tiger Track Club website.  This description will define the volunteer needs.  Please indicate if you can be available for all sessions or only some.  Sessions will run FRIDAYS 3:00-4:15 for the following dates:

APRIL: 4/5, 4/12, 4/26; NO practice on 4/19 - Spring Break

MAY: 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24?(Memorial Day), 5/31

JUNE: 6/2 (Sharing Network 5K), 6/7 and TBD Joint event with AWR Running Club

Also comment on what role(s) you prefer/can do.  We will create a more detailed volunteer schedule once we have volunteer names, availability and role preferences.

Role (Number of Volunteers Needed)

Lap counter (2 each week)

Help count laps, have iphone lap counting app, cheer kids on, positive and energetic influence

Timer/Safety Monitor (1 each week)

Someone to time sessions and facilitate group staying on schedule.  Act as overall safety monitor.  Cheer kids on too!

Joggers (2 each week)

Volunteers to jog with kids and provide positive encouragment along the way.  May need to float and help with bathroom or individual issues.

Strength/Flexibility Leader (1 and ideally able to lead for all 7 sessions)

Lead kids through strength and flexibility exercises.  Needs to have some experience in safe techniques for kids.

Relays/Speed Leader (1 and ideally able to lead for all 7 sessions)

Facilitate fun relay races.  Must have energy and ability to coral kids through 20 min of guided relay races.

Strength/Flexibility Support (1-2 each week)

Help leader execute strength and flexibility exercises.  Follow lead of leader with safe methods.  Helpful to have exercise experience but not required.  Assist with individual issues so leader is not interrupted.

Relays/Speed Support (1-2 each week)

Help facilitate relays and deal with individual issues.

Awards Coordinator (1 ideally able to come to all 7 sessions)

Responsible for tracking and distributing awards each week.  No experience needed.  Club uses software to track laps and awards -  so mostly automated.

Running Volunteer (12)

Help in one of the running or fitness roles, jogger, lead or assist with sprints/relays or flexibility and strength groups.
