Saturday March 5 10am we will join renown historian and tour guide Michael Shaffer at the Picketts Mill battlefield. We will meet at the Visitor's Center to commence the tour, then enjoy lunch together after we wrap up around 1pm. ACWRT will co-sponsor this tour with the Cobb County Civil War Round Table.
We will strictly adhere to CDC guidelines such that everyone must wear a mask when indoors, maintain proper social distancing, and bring their own water and snacks. There will be no bus and carpooling is welcomed, and each vehicle will be responsible for its own park fee. We will pay inside, or show a State Historic Site annual pass. Discounts for seniors and veterans.
We have a bonus, the artillery-crew at the battlefield will be there to demonstrate their gun as part of our tour.
We will enjoy our dutch treat lunch together after the tour, likely at nearby Rodney's BBQ & Catering (770) 445-5900 https://maps.app.goo.gl/A36Zjn4Q2FP3DzMu5. These lunches have proven to be very rewarding for our participants.
While there will be no fee for this tour, online contributions will support the Friends of Picketts Mill battlefield: https://friendsofgastateparks.org/parks/pickett-s-mill
