Race day opening/closing duties will be selected by members via an online signup form. Each family must select a minimum of 3 opening or closing spots (3 openings, 3 closings, 1 opening and 2 closings, or 2 openings and 1 closing). The number of required spots may change based on the number of active families each year. You are required to sign up for 3 opening/closing spots before you will be allowed to race in the Championship Series or Summer Heat Series at NCQMA.
Each NCQMA family will be required to participate in race day opening or closing duties on a scheduled race day. This includes, but is not limited to, unlocking the scale house, putting out flags, fire extinguishers, & corner worker vests, blowing off the track and hot chute, distributing trash cans around facility, cleaning & restocking bathrooms, emptying trash cans, picking up the grounds, & any other duties assigned by captain.
Family #1 for each opening/closing will act as the captain. Members should report to captain at the start of duties to receive their tasks and after tasks have been completed to sign off. Failure to check in with captain at conclusion of opening/closing duties may result in penalty.
Failure to perform assigned race day opening/closing duties will result in a penalty. The penalty for failure to perform assigned race day opening/closing duties is a $50 fine to be paid prior to being allowed to register for the next race. This fine will be imposed each time an NCQMA family fails to perform their assigned opening/closing duties. Effective immediately, the fine will be enforced to all members.
If you need to change your sign up, you may do so on the form below. However, if you need to make a change less than a week before the race you signed up for, you must find someone to replace you for that race. If you do not find someone to replace you, you will incur a penalty that must be paid before you will be allowed to register for the next race.
If you replace someone who is not able to fulfill their assigned opening or closing duties, please be sure to let Terry Brewer (276-724-0453 / [email protected]) know so that she can change you in the signup list. Otherwise, you will not receive credit for you signup.
If a race is rescheduled for a rain date, the opening/closing signups for that race will be moved to the new date. If you are unable to fulfill your opening/closing assignment on that new date, let Terry Brewer know so that we can find a replacement.
