This class will start once 3 or 4 people have signed up.
Agility FUNdation: Here is where you start! Agility FUNdation is a fun series of classes in which you build your relationship with your dog and learn the skills to compete in agility. Each session is 5 weeks long. At the conclusion of the sessions (You may need to or elect to take multiple sessions), you will be eligible for the next level class (Agility 201) at a different time and/or day. Currently, my Agility 201 classes are taught in Woodburn, OR or Hillsboro, OR. Also a possibility is that at the end of this class, it changes into an Agility 201 class at the same time/day.
Please note that this Foundation class is a SERIES of 4* sessions. Each session is 5 weeks long.
*Session 4 may be repeated.
This class is suitable for for puppies and dogs that are 9 months or older*. No repetitive, intensive drills. Learn about how dog's learn, and what method works best for your dog. Work on conditioning work, focus exercises, exercises to promote self control (your dog's!) and build the relationship with your dog.
*Experienced dog trainers may start with younger dogs with MY permission.
We add the basics for equipment (tunnels, contact equipment, weaves, and jumping) as well as start the basics for agility handling.
Continue to master the eqiupment (tunnels, contact equipment, weaves, and jumping) as well as continue handling excercises.
Continue to master the eqiupment (tunnels, contact equipment, weaves, and jumping) as well as continue handling excercises and more sequencing.
*Session 4 may be repeated as a class.
Skills Mastered at the end of Session 4:
- Handling turns: Front Cross, Rear Cross, Blind Cross, Post turns
- Agility equipment*: Jumps, Tunnels, Aframe, Dog Walk, Teeter, Weaves (channel), Table , Tire.
- Sequencing: 10 obstacle sequences.
- Dog training concepts: Luring, shaping, capturing, rewarding.
- Dog Body awareness and conditioning excercises.
- A better, and deeper relationship with your dog!
* Depending on dog's age and other factors some equipment may not be at FULL height/spread
This class is 5 sessions (Cost is $ 125). Class size is limited to 4 (60 minute classes) or 6 (90 minute class)
A $25 deposit is required to sign up for this class, paid via PayPal. If you would like to pay with a check, please contact me ([email protected]) to make arrangements. The balance is due the first class. You place is class is guaranteed by time of receipt of deposit. No refunds will be possible after the second class has started. The deposit is not refundable unless the class is cancelled.
WOODBURN, OR: This class is taught in a dirt floor arena, which is located near Woodburn, OR (A few miles from the I-5 Donald exit). Directions will be sent prior to class.
