2019 MICC Gala

The theme of this year’s fundraising Gala is “Expedition Independence- What's Your New Frontier?” We need volunteers for a variety of roles to help us on March 23, 2019 at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel – The Depot. We invite you to dress up as your favorite intergalactic character and help us with set-up, tear-down, registration, and our silent and live auctions. Volunteer shifts are flexible and require between 2-6 hours of your time. We’ll provide light snacks, refreshments and unlimited gratitude. We encourage you to share this sign-up page with your friends, family, and anyone else who has the ability to help.

Silent Auction Basket Set Up (6)

Volunteers will be setting up and primping the Silent Auction items. Volunteers should have experience with basket prep or with retail decoration.

Registration (10)

Responsibilities include greeting guests at registration, finding and explaining their registration packet, scanning their credit cards, and directing them to the event. Computer skills and detail orientation required. Training at 3pm in registration area

Silent Auction (3)

Volunteers will circulate throughout the silent auction space assisting bidders with the bid process on tablets and kiosks. Training at 3:30 in the auction area.

Mobile Bidding Sign-Up Table (3)

Volunteers will be stationed at a table with mobile sign-up tablets. Volunteers will help guests enter mobile numbers into the system and provide guests with signup instructions. Training at 3:45 in the registration area.

 
6:30pm - 7:30pm  

Purchase Notification Delivery (7)

Volunteers will organize purchase notifications into envelopes and deliver them to the dinner tables. Training at 6:30 in the registration area.

 
6:30pm - 10:30pm  

Packing and Checkout (10)

Volunteers will work with staff to pack up guests' winning items. Volunteers then help with Checkout by thanking guests, collecting signed receipts, and delivering items to guests. Training at 6:30 in the auction space.

Live Auction Recorders (4)

Volunteers will verify the winning bid amounts, record the bid numbers of the winning bidders, and obtain their signatures. Detail orientation and friendly manner needed. Training at 6:40 with auctioneer in volunteer room.
