MPB Social Outreach
Start the holiday season by serving others with MPB teacher leader Barbara Garret at Metro Caring as we support and serve the working poor. Because of volunteers, Metro Caring is able to distribute 2 million pounds of nutritious food to hungry families and individuals while also providing education and tools to help them improve their health and self-sufficiency. Volunteer opportunities include sorting and market help.
We ask that volunteers wear closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle if they’d like.
Additionally, we are asking folks to consider parking off-site and saving our parking spaces for our participants and their average cart weight of 88 lbs. Attached are directions for off-site parking if you like to consider that – it’s about two blocks from Metro Caring.
More details about volunteering are attached.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time to fill out a waiver.
Date: Wednesday Novemeber 20
Time: 9:00am-12:30 pm
Carpool: Please indicate if you'd like to carpool from MPB leaving at 8:15 am.
When you arrive, please come in the back door in the southeast corner of the building, go into the warehouse on the left, and come up the stairs on the right. We’ll be meeting at the table at the end of the hall to do waivers and nametags before starting the tour and volunteering.
