Learn how veterinarians do their job and how they help their animal patients with new topics each session!
Topics this session include:
- Animal Body Language!
- Pet Adoption!
- Animal Skeletons & Bones!
- Halloween Pet Safety!
- Bats and Rabies!
- All About Cats!
Students adopt their own (stuffed) animal and use their science, math, and critical thinking skills to learn about responsible pet ownership, how animal bodies work, signs of illness, and all the other fun, gross, weird and amazing things veterinarians encounter while doing their jobs.
Hands-on demonstrations, medically-themed arts & crafts, and group problem-solving highlight new topics each session. Live animal guests will accompany Dr Pam to help students practice what they have learned!
Instructor: Dr. Pam Wittenberg has over 30 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. When she's not teaching kids about animals and science, she works as a veterinarian with Vetted Mobile PetCare in San Francisco, and teaches veterinary and human anatomy at Santa Rosa Junior College.
