Nora's Home

Do you have a green thumb?  Well we have a Healing Garden that requires your special touch any weekend throughout the spring and summer months. Basic gardening needs include weeding, trimming, and possibly some planting or mulching. Whatever your gardening specialty is, we'll be happy to put it to good use!  This is a great activity for any size group, though most groups are 5-10 people. Stay for an hour or stay for 3! Whatever your schedule is, we'll be happy to accommodate--just let us know when you plan to be here and how many people we should expect.

We do have some tools readily available (hedge clippers, hand pruners, long-handled pruners, shovels, rakes, hand weeder, extension cords, some gloves) but welcome volunteers to bring their own or coordinate with enough advance notice (at least 2-3 weeks) for us to rent tools on a case-by-case basis.

For any volunteers that enter the home briefly for water or to utilize the restroom facilities, we require you to wear a mask and social distance. All in-house volunteering must follow our strict infectious disease protocols to protect our transplant populations so we ask that your inside time is limited unless you can adhere to our policies found here.

Have questions? Call us at 832-831-3720. We look forward to seeing you!
