Wesley Student Center
All students, Wesley folks, international & community friends are invited to join us Monday, September 3rd, for our annual Labor Day canoe trip! It's a great way to enjoy one last blast of summer before the semester gets into full swing.
The cost for the trip is $25 per person, which covers transportation, park fees, and canoe rental. Please bring cash or a check (made out to The Wesley Foundation) with you on the day we leave. You will also need to sign a liability waiver from the canoe rental company in order to go canoeing.
Information about the trip:
We'll meet in the parking lot at the Wesley Student Center (1203 W. Green Street, behind the building off Goodwin) at 7:30 a.m. to depart at 7:45 a.m. We'll canoe the beautiful Sugar Creek river for 3 1/2 miles in the morning, eat lunch while on the river, hike the various trails around the park, hang out, play games, etc., and return home by 6:00 p.m.
Please bring the following items:
*Clothes and sturdy shoes for hiking and canoeing (they may get wet!)
*Extra clothes and shoes to change into if they get wet (optional)
*A sack lunch AND a snack to share (chips or cookies, etc.)
*A filled water bottle (shatterproof - no glass)
*Sunglasses, suntan lotion, hat/visor (if needed)
Bug spray and first aid supplies will be provided.
For more information or questions, please contact Rev. Julie Dowler, Wesley's campus minister, at [email protected] or 217-344-1120.
Please register by 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 31st so we can plan appropriately for transportation and canoe rentals.
Drivers may be needed for this trip, & will be given money for gas if additional transportation is required.
