Confessions of an Eight-Legged Washout
directed by Charlotte Nixon
Presented at Calgary Public Libraries and in CYPT's 2019 Cannonball Festival!
You've heard of Itsy Bitsy, the spider. You've heard of Jack-Be-Nimble, the candle-jumper. You've heard of Little Miss Muffett, the tuffet-sitter. But the true stories of these famous characters are ones you definitely have not heard... until now. Join us as these characters and more get a chance to tell their true stories for the first time. A fun-filled performance, suitable for all ages.
How do I audition?
Simply sign-up for a time-slot below, and start working on a monologue that you can perform for our director. The monologue can be from a play, or something you make up, or something you find on the internet! Keep it 1-2 minutes in length. Auditions will be held at our studio in the basement of 1703 1st Street NW (the Unitarian Church of Calgary).
Who can audition?
Any child age 8-14 can audition! No experience necessary.
Is there a cost for this program?
Yes, there is a tuition of $300 for this program. CYPT never wants finances to be a barrier for kids, though, so if the program fee is any difficulty at all, please feel free to apply for a bursary to help cover the cost. Email [email protected] for more information.
When does this program begin?
Auditions will be held February 4. Rehearsals will take place from March 20 - May 18, on Wednesday nights (6-8:30pm) and Saturday afternoons (12-5pm) at the new Seton library. Performances will happen from May 18 - June 1, including multiple performances at Calgary Public Libraries across the city and at CYPT's Cannonball Festival of Theatre at West Village Theatre.
