Fulton Theatre Seeking Young Lola and Young Charlie for our production of KINKY BOOTS
Young Charlie – 8-10 year old Caucasian boy. Lost, quiet, reflective.
Young Lola – 10 year old African American boy who already knows he is destined to wear high heels.
The Fulton Theatre will be holding auditions for our upcoming production of Kinky Boots on January 25 from 10am -12pm. Possible Callback from 12pm – 1pm.
Auditions will be held in the Fulton Clubhouse located behind the theatre on 20 N. Water St.
Please have your child prepare a short 16 bar cut of a song, preferably musical theatre. I have included the music that each character sings in the show as well. Please have your child familiarize themselves with it as they may be asked to sing it if asked to stay for the callback portion of the day. They may also choose to sing this selection for their initial audition if they choose.
An Accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music with appropriate cuts of your audition selection for the Accompanist.
If auditioning for the role of Young Lola, your child may also be asked to give us their best sassy strut. Think a Supermodel on the runway in heels!
Here is a brief synopsis of the show:
Kinky Boots is the winner of every major Best Musical award, including the Tony, the Grammy and London’s Olivier Award. Based on true events, this huge-hearted hit tells the story of two people with nothing in common—or so they think! Charlie is a factory owner struggling to save his family business. Lola is a fabulous entertainer with a wildly exciting idea. With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, this unexpected pair learns to embrace their differences and creates a line of sturdy stilettos unlike any the world has ever seen! But in the end, their most sensational achievement is their friendship.
Featuring 16 original songs by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein.
