Dog TLC Volunteers
Most of us would agree that one of the hardest parts about Dog TLC is harnessing. It takes a lot of practice - and practice is hard when you are working with a bouncy, wiggly, licky dog! We want you to be calm and confident so all your walks ae successful. We are offering you HELP!
Volunteer Lynn has been at this for a long time, and she is our resident harness expert. Kerry Mitchell is a professional dog trainer and teaches all our advanced dog handling classes. Together they will be leading regular harness training opportunities the first Sunday of each month. These trainings will allow you to see the various harnesses you may encounter as a volunteer, and they will give you some supervised, hands on practice time with the most common styles.
If you are a new(er) Dog TLC volunteer, I strongly suggest attending. Please be sure you have your first Dog TLC training completed prior to this session.
Training is held in the MP Room at the shelter (upstairs) at the shelter facility. The folks at the front desk can point you in the right direction if you don't remember how to get through the maze!
