5pm Communion Servers
To make it easier for volunteers, sign ups are now by the week, not by the month. Please select each date you would like to serve communion. You are still welcome to serve each Saturday, just make sure to select each date. Hopefully this will help volunteers that have busy schedules to still be able to serve.
There is only 1 station at the 5pm, so you will set up the altar and also serve with the pastor. The altar table needs 1 chalice of wine and 1 bowl of wafers. The table along the wall you will put 1 chalice of juice and the special gluten free wafers. When you serve communion, the gluten free wafers stay on the table. You will grab the chalice of juice in your right hand and walk to the center aisle and the pastor will hand you the chalice of wine in your left hand.
Please note that you will also set up 1 chalice and 1 bowl of wafers for the musicians. This station is set up behind the music wall. You will cover it up with a cloth and leave it following the service. This station will be used by the musicians throughout the weekend and cleaned up following the 10:15 service by the 10:15 Altar volunteer.
Please make sure that the pastor's basket that sits in the front row has a water bottle in it. The water bottles are kept in the altar guild fridge. Replenish the water bottles as needed in the fridge. You will see the water bottles in the altar room.
Thanks so much!
