**We want to know everybody's name. If you are signing up a group, please list all names and instruments. Percussionists, please consider the quieter instruments in your repertoire.**
Saturday, April 28, is "Blitz Day," when our band students (including guard) will play music, accept donations, and sell drawing tickets out in our community. These drawing ticket sales do not go toward individual sales to earn seller prizes (do not bring your tickets with you). You can sign up with your friends, but be sure you can play some music together that sounds good. Pep band music is recommended, but solo or ensemble pieces are also good. Wear your band shirt and bring your instrument and music with lyre and flip folder, or music stand with clothespins in case of wind.
We also need parents to chaperone their shifts. The job is pretty straightforward: accompany a group of students as they play music and sell tickets outside of local businesses. Stop by the GCM band room on the way to pick up the materials you will need, then meet your students at the booth location. Return to the band room immediately after your shift to return materials. Remain at your booth location until all students with you are picked up, or return students to the band room also.
On Sunday, May 27, we will have a booth at Viva Vienna to sell drawing tickets. Unlike Blitz Day, these students will be selling their individually assigned tickets to earn seller prizes (bring your tickets with you!). Wear your band shirt. You can bring your instrument to show people, but you probably won't play, except maybe some scales or doodling. Please note, the Marshall jazz band plays at Viva Vienna during the first shift on Sunday morning. You can leave your booth to see them play and sell tickets in the crowd during this time.
Thanks for your support!
