At The Gathering we rely on our volunteers to help prepare and serve meals to those in need. Every volunteer matters and fills a very special place at The Gathering. Without you, we could not complete our mission to provide meals to those who would otherwise go hungry, or without. Join us in Feeding the Hungry and Keeping Hearts Full. 

Our methods have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we still are offering meals to the most resilient, grateful people in Milwaukee.  When you sign-up to volunteer, you are agreeing to help prepare, package and distribute to-go meals to all our 

The Gathering needs your help to serve Lunch on Saturdays!

Where: Across all four of our meal sites. Pick a location!

1. Ascension Lutheran Church, 1236 S. Layton Blvd
*There is parking behind the church off of Scott St

2. Running Rebels, 1300 W Fond du Lac Ave
*Located in the cul-de-sac on the corner of 13th and Vine St

3. Our Next Generation (ONG), 3421 W Lisbon Ave

4. Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 8424 W Center St

When: Saturdays, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

ALL VOLUNTEERS, PLEASE NOTE:

• All volunteers and staff onsite are required to wear a face mask, covering your nose and mouth. (If you are unwilling or unable to wear a face mask you will not be able to volunteer, for everyone's protection. No exceptions will be made.) If you don't have a face mask, we have some disposable ones on site.  **Even if you are vaccinated, you must wear a mask over your mouth and nose.**
   
• Parking and volunteer entrance varies for each meal site. If you need specific instructions, please call our office (414) 272-4122, extension 1003, the Friday before you are expected to volunteer.
   
• When you arrive, we will take your temperature (using a no-contact thermometer) If your temp is below 100.4 degrees, all is good.
   
• Youth (ages 10 - 17) must bring an adult chaperone to volunteer with them.
   
• Attire: Please do not wear sandals. Please dress appropriately...no short shorts, no bare midriffs.
   
• We kindly ask that if you sign-up, you show up. We rely on our volunteers to help ensure our guests get fed. Every single volunteer matters. We can't do this without you!

  • If you are signed-up and do not show up for your volunteered time, your name will be removed from all future online sign-ups and you must then call our office (414) 272-4122, extension 1003, for any future sign-ups.
