Saturday June 4 Konnie Memorial Park, Swisshome

We will explore Konnie Memorial Park in the heart of the Coast Range near Swisshome with Ed Alverson. This 145 acre park is located along the lower reaches of Lake Creek just above its confluence with the Siuslaw River. The parks supports coastal rain forest communities as well as interesting rock outcrop and open river bank habitats. On the way we will make several stops along Wildcat Creek Road and Stagecoach Road to look for interesting plants on wet and dry cliffs (including native Oregon white oaks) and other forest understory plants. Meet at South Eugene High School (parking lot corner of 19th and Patterson) for carpooling. This is an all day trip so bring boots, lunch, water and appropriate clothing for weather.
