Thank you for signing up to participate in the Askate Foundation event on July 17, 2019 in San Clemente, CA. Below is important information for you to read regarding the event and what to expect! You will need to sign a waiver for the skatepark when you arrive. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your chosen skate time.
If you are unable to attend this event please let us know ASAP! There are families who were placed on a waiting list who may be able to take your child's place in the event that you are unable to attend.
A FEW THINGS:
Skateboard equipment will be available for the children to use for the day however if your child has their own skateboard equipment that they are learning to use feel free to bring it! We welcome you to bring their bike helmets if they are more comfortable wearing those as well.
We recommend closed toe athletic footwear to ensure that your child has the easiest time skateboarding and participating in the clinic. Crocks and sandals are NOT safe on skateboards and we do not recommend wearing them. If you have a hard time finding a shoe that your child does not have to tie or wear socks with, we recommend Vans slip on shoes.
An address will be emailed to participants a few days prior to the event.
No child is too young and no individual is too old to participate! Skateboarding is known to "heal the soul" but for our special kids it is so much more! Skateboarding offers components similar to Occupational Therapy, focusing on motor, vestibular, and proprioceptive skills. In addition our program allows these children to be social on their own terms.
