During next year the CARITAS Shelter program will transition from the traditional host congregation format to a permanent shelter site format. The move is being made to provide a greatly enhanced level of client stability and service not currently available when the clients are moving to a new location every week. The permanent site will allow staff to more effectively concentrate on treatment and social work, and it will provide less transitional stress on the clients while allowing them more hours of employment flexibility.
The Men's group that we expected to host during the week of April 14 will not take place on our campus. Instead CARITAS has asked for us to pack lunches throughout that week for the 35 clients and deliver them to the Healing Place. Additionally, they have asked for us to prepare a meal for the site on Saturday April 21.
On this sign-up you will find the ability to sign-up for food items for the lunches. You'll also find the sign-up to pack lunches and to prepare and serve dinner in another tab or on our website by clicking here.
This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals and groups to come together to serve in a new way. For more information, contact Andy Elmes at [email protected] or 804.337.6482.
