Industrial Hemp
The purpose of this meeting is to provide interested parties with the opportunity to provide information for the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food in the Cultivation of Industrial Hemp rule making process. To make the best rules possible, Department staff is holding a public meeting to hear ideas and concerns from interested parties before writing the draft of the rules. To be clear, because the rules have not been written, Department staff will not be able to answer questions about the new rules at this meeting; it will only be a listening session to get public input on the future rules.
After the rules have been written, there will more opportunities for public comment on the drafted rules.
The meeting will be held on April 19, 2018 from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the State Office Building Auditorium, Utah State Capitol Complex, 350 N State Street, Salt Lake City. There will also be two other meetings that day dealing with Cannabidiol (CBD) Products and Medical Cannabis, so time will be very limited and we will be on a strict schedule. Seating for the meeting will be limited and the Department anticipates much interest in the meetings, so we have developed this signup as a means of organizing the attendance and commenting process of the meeting. There will be two options for the meeting: 1) attending the meeting and 2) making comments about the Cultivation of Industrial Hemp rule making. If you are planning on attending the meeting and may want to make comments, please choose the both signups to attend the meeting and make comments. After you have selected that you would like to attend the meeting, and possibly make comments, click the "Submit and Signup" button at the bottom of your web browser.
If you are coming with a group, you can select the number of individuals who will be attending and then select the number of individuals who will be making comments. Because time for comments will be limited, we encourage every group to select one spokesperson to represent the group and their comments.
