Volunteer Sign-up - 10th Annual Texas Autism Bike Ride and Fun Run

Race Packet Stuffing (10)

Put information and goodies from our sponsors into ride packets for riders and runners. Coordinate with Bike Ride Directors to pick up swag bags and supplies.

Bike Course Markers (10)

Post signs along the bike course to direct riders. You will be supplied with map showing locations where signs should be posted as well as pole-driver tool for metal signs. You will need a vehicle large enough to hold 30-40 signs.

5K Course Set-Up (2)

Walk the course and set up signs, balloons and rope along the course.

Bike Route Set-Up (4)

Drive the bike route and make sure all signs are in place, replace any signs needed, deliver and set up rest stops. You will need a truck or car able to fit tables, chairs, tubs and signs.

Ice and Water Set-Up (2)

Pick up ice and fill 20 Gatorade coolers with ice and water, filling 10 with Gatorade mix. Transport to rest stops.

Volunteer Check-In (2)

Set up volunteer table and chairs next to the Registration table. Greet Volunteers, have them sign in on the Volunteer Roster, provide t-shirt and direct them to their shift positions. Monitor no-shows and reallocate volunteers as needed.

Packet Pick-Up (8)

Greet riders/runners, check them in and have them sign waiver if none is on file. Assign bib number and provide participant packet and t-shirts. Based on fundraising totals, provide them with their incentives (Jersey).

New Rider/Runner Registration (2)

Register and collect waivers for new riders. Take payment using Square technology. Give participant packets, t-shirts, and maps to registered riders.

Rest Stop 2 (2)

Set up rest stop, prepare and replenish snacks, help riders when they come by. Break down rest stop after last rider.

Parking Directions (2)

Help direct bike ride patrons to the correct parking lot.

SAG 68 Mile Ride

SAG 42 mile ride (2)

Follow behind 42 mile riders. Pick up any hurt, broken down, or lost riders. Pick up signs, and rest stop tables and chairs along the way.

Rest Stop 5 (2)

Set up rest stop, prepare and replenish snacks, help riders when they come by. Break down rest stop after last rider.

Rest Stop 3 (2)

Set up rest stop, prepare and replenish snacks, help riders when they come by. Break down rest stop after last rider.

Resource Fair Set Up (2)

Help set up tables and chairs for resource fair.

SAG 24 mile ride

Follow behind 24 mile riders. Pick up any hurt, broken down, or lost riders. Pick up signs, and rest stop tables and chairs along the way.

Set up rest stop, prepare and replenish snacks, help riders when they come by. Break down rest stop after last rider.

5K Fun Run Monitors (7)

Each volunteer will be placed along a GHS entrance or area of the 5K. Hold traffic when 5K runners and walkers are crossing the street. Direct runners/walkers along the course

Food Pick-Up and Set-Up (3)

Pick up food from multiple locations and bring to Georgetown High School. Set up tables and arrange lunch buffet of sandwiches appropriate for participants to enjoy! Maintain supplies so that riders on the longer riders will be able to have lunch too.

Bounce House

We will have two bounce houses, one for younger children and one for older. Monitor the bounce houses, making sure bigger kids aren't getting in the young kids one, and vice versa. Make sure there aren't too many at a time.

SAG Bike Course Break Down (4)

Drive the bike course collecting signs, water jugs, discarded water bottles and anything else that may have been left behind at the rest stops. Pick up any riders. You will be given a bike course map with your assigned area. Larger vehicle recommended.

Help break down resource fair, tables and chairs.
