CHANGE OF ORIGINAL DATE FROM APRIL 25TH TO MAY 2ND, DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
PLEASE REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE VOLUNTEER LIST IF YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP ON THAT DAY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
This is a culminating event for a cross-curricular project between World Geography (Boyd), Spanish I (Granado), Spanish II (Daniel), Chinese (Voelker), and Art I (Mooney). The @Mazing Race incorporates challenges of content knowledge, geocaching, communication, and collaboration. Each group will be competing against the others for recognition and prizes to create a fun and exciting day for our learners.
The @Mazing Race portion of the day will occur during the morning. We must have 10 chaperones, one per group that will accompany each team of Rookies, as they take on their adventure to journey out into the surrounding neighborhood and campus to find their hidden containers which will contain challenges for the group to complete. There will be a required training session for all chaperones with Mrs. Boyd. Required training session, either April 30th 1:30-2:30 pm OR 6:00-7:00 pm in room 101. Click here to preview the Rubric the learners will be using to win. Click here for parent chaperone assignments by team.
We will also need 10 volunteers in the afternoon to help with the celebration cookout. These volunteers will work with Mr. Granado to setup for this finale event. Parents and volunteers are welcome to sign up for both parts of this culminating event, but it is not required.
