It's Sea Turtle nesting season! Are you curious about nesting habits of sea turtles, what they eat, the environment they live in, how big they get, and how we can better protect them? Find out the answers to these questions and more , along with learning other ways we can help maintain their nesting environments on our beautiful barrier islands. The goal of this program is to create a greater awareness and understanding of the sea turtles that nest on Florida’s beaches. Starting with the hatchlings emerging from the nest, to the mother laying eggs on the same beach she was born on 30 years prior. We will also explore the life of sea turtles nesting on Stump Pass Beach. Free to BIPS Members. $5 for non-members. $3 per vehicle Stump Pass Beach State Park entrance fee. Reservations required.
