In a polarized nation, it can take courage to talk with someone with whom we disagree. Amid the Twitter storms, media wars, and Thanksgiving dinner disasters of our time, a church that says, “We talk about hard things!” has begun to save the world.
On Sunday, April 29, Greens Farms Church steps into that strong vocation with Courage Sunday. Rev. Dr. Allen Hilton will be here to lead us through – join us for the whole morning or any part of it. You’re not gonna want to miss this!
- 9 am God’s Call and our Response: A Biblical Case for Congregational Change. Allen, who taught New Testament at Yale Divinity School, will lead a bible study in the Parlor
- 10 am “A Funded Mandate” Allen’s sermon during worship will ask: Does God supply the spiritual gifts we need to capitalize on our differences?
- 11:30 am Courageous Conversation "Politically Correct Much?" How do we draw good lines around dangerous speech without talking scared all the time? We'll exercise some atrophied muscles in the Social Hall by debating one of the hot topics of our time.
- 12:30 pm Moving Courage Forward Join Allen for lunch in the Parlor if you would like to be part of our ministry to save our divided world, one conversation at a time.
9:00am - 1:30pm EDT
