Building Bee Houses for Mason Bees

5:30pm-6pm

Building Bee Houses for Mason Bees
Mason Bees pollinate more of our crops than honey bees do and they are also experiencing a huge population decline due, in part, to loss of habitat.  Mason bees do not sting unless seriously threatened and each female bees can lay eggs, unlike honey bees who rely on the queen. Come learn how to help mason bees by building and caring for bee houses constructed just for them.  Make your own and take it home to invite these gentle creatures to your garden.  This hands-on workshop is suitable for bee lovers of all ages. We will be working in the Fellowship Hall.  Enter at the glass doors on the 39th Street side of the church.
